I’ve been using IFTTT for some basic automations, but I’m eager to take it to the next level without upgrading to the paid service. Does anyone have recommendations for free alternatives, especially for more complex routines? I’ve heard Google Home can integrate with YoLink devices—would that be a good fit? Another thing I’m exploring is integrating multiple smart home brands. I’ve got a mix of devices, and while it’s great for flexibility, getting everything to work seamlessly is a challenge. For example, I’m trying to set up a motion sensor in my basement that turns on the lights for exactly five minutes. It works perfectly, but I’d love to hear if there are cleaner ways to handle such automations without writing separate rules for each device. Any tips or tricks would be amazing! Speaking of automations, I wanted to share a fun setup I’ve created. I’ve linked my smart bulbs with the TV Immersion Kit, and it’s truly a game-changer for movie nights! 
The colors and ambiance adjust perfectly with the on-screen action, making it feel like I’m right in the middle of the film. It’s such a simple addition but makes a huge difference in my entertainment experience. On the topic of integration, I’ve also been experimenting with the Fritzbox binding in openHAB. I set up an alert system where an email and phone call are triggered if my windows remain open too long during the winter. The email part works flawlessly, but getting the phone call notification has been a bit tricky. If anyone has successfully implemented something similar, I’d love to hear how you did it! Lastly, I’m curious about others’ experiences with custom credentials and card formats in their security systems. Is it possible to use both built-in formats and custom credentials on the same reader? I’d love to streamline access control without compromising on security features.
