Hey everyone! I’m really excited to dive into the world of smart home automation using Alexa. I’ve recently set up my Alexa skill and it’s been a blast experimenting with different commands and routines. For instance, I’ve managed to get Alexa to turn on my lamp and TV using the Harmony Hub driver, which is fantastic for movie nights!
However, I’m curious about taking this a step further. I’d love to create a sequence where the lights fade on when I start watching a movie and then fade off after about 5 minutes, assuming everyone is settled. I’m not entirely sure how to achieve this within HE, though. Is there a specific app or feature that allows for such sequences? And once I figure that out, how would I link it to a simple Alexa command?
Another thing I’m exploring is setting up secure webhooks for my ESP8266 board. I’ve managed to connect it using Logic app, but I’m concerned about certificate renewals. If the Amazon certificate gets renewed, will I need to reprogram my ESP8266? Is there a workaround for this?
On a lighter note, I’ve also been tinkering with creating custom notifications for my smart home devices. It’s been a fun challenge figuring out how to send messages to specific speakers and customize the alerts. I’d love to hear how others are setting up their notification systems!
Overall, I’m really enjoying the journey of learning and customizing my smart home setup. The community here is amazing, and I can’t wait to keep experimenting and sharing my experiences. If anyone has tips or resources for the questions I’ve mentioned, I’d be thrilled to hear them!
Looking forward to connecting with everyone!
