Exploring Smart Home Automation with Bosch and Sonos

Hey everyone, I’m diving into the world of smart home automation and wanted to share my experiences and some questions I’ve come across. First, I’ve been using the Bosch Smart Home Binding for door contacts, but I’ve noticed an issue where the state updates only once when I link the device. It never changes again, even though the Bosch app shows real-time updates with a delay of about 1 second. Has anyone encountered this problem or knows how to fix it? I’ve looked into the documentation but couldn’t find any settings related to refresh rates or similar adjustments.

On a different note, I’ve been experimenting with setting up a smart speaker system using Sonos Era devices. However, I’ve noticed that my speakers appear twice in the app under different names, and changing the name of the second one just reverts back to the original. Why is this happening, and is there a way to resolve it? Also, why are there two different icons for the same device? It’s a bit confusing, and I’d love to get some clarity on this.

Another topic I’ve been exploring is the integration of Govee light bulbs into my ceiling lights and lamps. I’ve seen some great reviews, but I’m curious about others’ experiences. Have you used them? What are your thoughts on their performance and compatibility with other smart home systems? Any tips or tricks would be appreciated!

Finally, I wanted to share a fun project I’m working on—a DIY Moon Lamp using a 3D-printed enclosure and a Govee smart plug for power. It’s been a blast customizing the effects, and I’d love to hear if anyone else has tried similar projects or has suggestions for improvements.

Thanks for reading, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts and experiences!

Best regards,
