I’ve been diving into the world of smart home automation lately, and I must say, it’s been an exciting journey! One of the things I’ve been working on is integrating my Enigma2 box with Home Assistant. I’ve managed to set it up using the media_player integration, and it’s been working pretty smoothly for controlling the box, changing channels, and adjusting the volume. However, I’ve hit a bit of a snag when it comes to automating channel changes. I’ve tried setting up an automation using the media_player.select_source service, but it just doesn’t seem to work. I’ve experimented with different configurations, including specifying the source name with and without quotes, but nothing seems to trigger the channel change automatically. If anyone has any tips or tricks on how to get this working, I’d be super grateful! 
On another note, I’ve been really impressed with how smart plugs can expand the capabilities of my smart home setup. I recently came across a clever hack where someone used smart plugs to control Bluetooth devices through automations. It’s a brilliant workaround for integrating devices that don’t natively support smart home features. I’m thinking of trying something similar myself, maybe setting up a routine where turning on a smart plug triggers a series of actions, like turning on lights or adjusting the thermostat. It’s all about getting creative with what you have!
