Exploring Smart Home Automation with Govee and Hue

I’ve been diving into the world of smart home automation lately, and it’s been an exciting journey! I recently added a few Govee Ceiling Lights to my setup, and they’ve been a fantastic addition. The ability to control them via my phone or voice commands has made my evenings so much more convenient. However, I’ve encountered a few hiccups along the way that I’d love to share and get some advice on.

One of the challenges I faced was getting my Hue Smart Plugs to work seamlessly with my Hubitat system. Initially, I was met with an error message stating that the device type wasn’t supported. After some research and trial and error, I discovered that resetting the devices and re-pairing them one by one seemed to do the trick. It was a bit tedious, but it was worth it to have everything working smoothly again.

Another area I’ve been exploring is the use of schedules and automation for my security system. I’ve been using PLTS to set up different actions based on time, but I’m curious if there’s a way to customize each button’s schedule independently. For example, having the ‘Arm’ button trigger at a different time than the ‘Bypass’ button. If anyone has experience with this or can point me in the right direction, I’d greatly appreciate it!

On a lighter note, I’ve also been experimenting with creating custom watch faces using Watch Studio. It’s been a fun way to personalize my smartwatch, but I did run into an issue where some user data wasn’t displaying correctly. Thankfully, updating to the latest version of Wear OS and using the XML format for my watch face resolved the problem. It’s amazing how a little tweak can make such a big difference!

Overall, my experience with smart home automation has been overwhelmingly positive. The convenience and customization options are truly endless, and I’m excited to continue exploring all the possibilities. If anyone has any tips, tricks, or favorite devices they’d like to share, please feel free to comment below! Let’s keep the conversation going and help each other make the most of our smart home setups. :star2:
