The Xiaomi Miio HA integration doesn’t currently support all features, so I’ve had to rely on third-party apps to extract the necessary tokens and information. It would be fantastic if there were more official support or community-developed solutions to bridge this gap.
Another area I’ve been exploring is the use of smart bulbs for creative automation. I recently acquired a Sengled Bluetooth bulb, and while it’s limited to Alexa integration, I’ve had fun experimenting with it. For example, I’ve set it up to change colors based on the weather forecast, turning red when a battery in one of my devices is low. It’s a simple yet effective way to stay informed without relying on critical systems.
I’d also like to touch on the importance of device detection and automation triggers. I’ve set up an automation where my ceiling fan turns on when the AC starts cooling and off when it stops. However, I’d like to add a condition to ensure that this automation doesn’t override manual inputs. For example, if I manually turn on the fan, it should stay on even if the AC turns off. I’m still figuring out the best way to track and store the source of the last action, so any tips or resources would be greatly appreciated.
