I’m excited to share my recent experience with the HM-Dis-EP-WM55 device. I’ve been using it to monitor my garage door status and control the lights in my home. It’s been quite a journey figuring out how to set this up properly. 
Initially, I wanted a simple solution where a short button press would check the garage door status and light status, while a long press would close the garage door. I tried using a program for this, but I hit a wall when trying to query the light status. 
I decided to switch to a script-based approach, but I’m not entirely sure how to structure it. If anyone has tips or can guide me, that would be amazing! 
I’ve also been exploring other smart home devices and their integration. For example, setting up a scene with table lamps linked to TV lights for a cozy movie night has been a fun project. 
It’s all about creating that perfect ambiance, and smart home tech really shines here!
Another interesting challenge I faced was integrating Hunter Douglas PowerView blinds into my home automation system. I’m thinking of creating a plugin to control scenes through the Home Assistant app, but I’m unsure which component to use as a starting point. Any suggestions would be super helpful! 
I’m also curious about others’ experiences with similar devices and how they’ve overcome hurdles. Have you encountered any tricky setups or found innovative solutions? I’d love to hear your stories and tips!
