Exploring Smart Home Automation with Moes IR Remote Control

Hi all, I’m thrilled to share my journey with the Moes Smart IR Remote Control! As a newcomer to the world of smart home automation, I’ve been on a quest to integrate various devices seamlessly into my setup. Last summer, I took the plunge and purchased the Zigbee Moes Smart IR Remote Control, which has been a game-changer for me. I wanted to create an edge driver for this device, so I started learning LUA and diving into the zigbee protocol. It’s been quite the learning curve, but incredibly rewarding!

After some trial and error, I managed to develop a driver that allows the remote to learn and send IR codes. I utilized keypadInput and mode capabilities to create a user-friendly interface. The driver supports three different fingerprints, making it versatile for various devices. To learn a new code, simply select the ‘Learning’ mode, press the button you wish to learn, and the device will capture the IR code within 20 seconds. If no button is pressed, it automatically switches back to ‘Learning Off’. Additionally, there’s an option to delete all learned codes, which is super handy for reprogramming.

I’ve been using this setup for a while now, and it’s been rock solid. I’ve even added features like actions for keypad inputs, delays between button presses, and a history log for tracked buttons. It’s amazing how customizable this device is!

If you’re looking to enhance your smart home setup with an IR remote control, I highly recommend giving this driver a try. It’s opened up a whole new dimension of automation possibilities for me. I’d love to hear if anyone else has experimented with similar setups or has suggestions for further improvements!

Happy automating! :rocket:
