First off, I’ve been experimenting with the Nest 4th Gen Learning Thermostat. It’s been a game-changer for managing our home’s temperature. I was initially curious about whether the 3rd Gen wiring base plate could be used interchangeably with the 4th Gen, but after some research and trial, I found that they aren’t directly compatible. However, the 4th Gen thermostat itself is a breeze to set up and integrate into my existing system. The learning capabilities are impressive, and it’s been great to see how it adapts to our daily routines.
Another device that’s caught my attention is the Zooz ZSE40 sensor. I’ve been using it to control lighting, fans, and dehumidifiers based on climate conditions, presence, and ambient lighting. For instance, I’ve set it up so that the bathroom lights turn on when I enter and stay on while I’m there, even if I’m not actively moving around. The sensor’s motion detection is sensitive enough for this purpose, and the temperature and humidity readings are accurate, which is crucial for my setup. I’ve also been exploring how to pull this data into SmartThings for even more customized automation.
I’ve also had the chance to try out the Sonoff S60ZBTPG smart plug. Unfortunately, I’ve been experiencing some connectivity issues where it drops offline multiple times a day. The LQI readings are strong, so it’s puzzling why this is happening. I’ve reached out to the community for troubleshooting tips, and I’m hopeful to resolve this soon. On a more positive note, I recently unboxed the Govee Smart CO₂ Monitor and was immediately impressed by its sleek design and intuitive setup. It’s been enlightening to track indoor air quality in real-time, especially how CO₂ levels correlate with ventilation. Compared to my previous Govee devices, this one feels like a step up in terms of functionality and integration with the Govee ecosystem.
