Exploring Smart Home Automation with Philips Hue and Fibaro

As I continue my journey into the world of smart home automation, I’ve been experimenting with Philips Hue and Fibaro products. Here’s a quick update on my experiences and some questions I have for the community!

Philips Hue Automation Challenges
I’ve been using Philips Hue for over a decade now, and it’s always been a reliable choice for me. Recently, I added a Lily Spot and two Econic Poll lamps to my garden setup. I created an automation where the lights turn on at sunset and off at sunrise. While the sunset automation works perfectly, the sunrise part has been a bit tricky. The lights suddenly turn off around 1:30 - 2:00 AM, and this timing varies daily. Just before turning off, the brightness increases sharply. I’ve tried resetting the bridge, reloading the lights, and even using Alexa for automation, but nothing seems to resolve the issue. If anyone has faced a similar problem or has a solution, I’d love to hear about it!

Fibaro Smart Implant Installation
On another front, I’m looking into transforming my apartment’s intercom system into a smart setup. The current system uses an analog Golmar Tekni T-540 handset, and I believe the Fibaro Smart Implant could be the solution. The goal is to control the building door from my mobile phone. I’ve reached out to a technician who provided some wiring details, but I’m still unclear on a few points:

  1. Could someone provide a wiring layout plan for connecting the Fibaro Smart Implant to my intercom?
  2. Can the Smart Implant power itself using the existing wires, specifically the 12V DC green wire?
  3. After installation, will the physical button on the intercom still function?
  4. Can the intercom’s talk/listen feature be integrated into my mobile app?

If anyone has experience with similar installations or can offer guidance, I’d be very grateful!

Philips Hue Color Temperature Issue
Another interesting challenge I encountered is with Philips Hue ambiance bulbs. I can set them to 2200K manually, but when using smart lighting or scenes, the lowest setting available is 2700K. It would be great to have the same flexibility in scenes as I do with individual bulbs. If there’s a workaround or a feature request I should submit, please let me know!

Community Input Needed
I’m also curious about others’ experiences with similar setups. Have you successfully integrated analog intercom systems with smart implants? What automation quirks have you encountered with Philips Hue? I’d love to hear your tips, tricks, and solutions!

Thanks to everyone for their insights and support. Let’s keep the smart home innovation flowing!

Cheers,
Mohamed
