I recently came across the RGBW2 devices and I must say, they’ve opened up a whole new world of possibilities for my smart home setup. The ability to control multiple devices through scenes is something I’ve been wanting to explore, but I’ve hit a bit of a snag with the iOS app. Let me share my experience and see if anyone else has encountered this or has a workaround.
I absolutely love the idea of setting up scenes based on sunrise and sunset times. It would be perfect for creating ambiance in the evenings or ensuring my lights adjust naturally throughout the day. However, it seems the iOS app only allows me to set schedules based on specific times, not the dynamic sunrise/sunset times that are available on the RGBW2’s built-in website interface. This is a bit frustrating because it limits the flexibility I was hoping for.
I’ve tried reaching out to the support community and doing a bit of research, but I haven’t found a definitive solution yet. Has anyone successfully linked sunrise/sunset schedules to multiple RGBW2 devices through the iOS app? Or is there a third-party app that integrates better with these features? I’m really hoping there’s a way to make this work without having to switch platforms entirely.
On a positive note, the RGBW2 devices themselves are fantastic. They’re reliable, the color transitions are smooth, and the integration with my existing smart home ecosystem has been seamless. It’s just this one feature that’s been a hurdle for me. I’m optimistic that with a bit more tweaking or some creative problem-solving, I can get everything working as I envisioned.
If anyone has tips, tricks, or even just encouragement, I’d love to hear them! Let’s keep the conversation going and see if we can crack this together.
