Exploring Smart Home Automation with Shelly and Zigbee Devices

I’ve been diving into the world of smart home automation lately, and I must say, it’s been a fascinating journey! :rocket: I recently set up a few Shelly devices and some Zigbee smart plugs, and I’m absolutely thrilled with how they’ve integrated into my daily life. These devices have made controlling my home so much easier and more convenient. However, I did run into a minor hiccup that I wanted to share and get some feedback on.

One of my favorite devices is the Shelly Plus 2PM switch. It’s been a great addition to my setup, especially with its dimming capabilities. I’ve been using it to control my ceiling lights, and it’s been working perfectly. But here’s where I hit a snag: I wanted to set up a specific automation where pressing the switch once would toggle the lights on or off, and pressing it again during the transition would stop the dimming process. While this worked seamlessly with my older Shelly 2.5 model, I’m having trouble replicating the same behavior with the newer Shelly Plus 2PM. I’ve scoured the settings and even checked online forums, but I’m still not quite there. Has anyone else encountered this and found a workaround?

On the Zigbee front, I’ve been experimenting with smart plugs that offer dimming functionality. It’s amazing how these devices can add a whole new layer of control to my home. I’ve set up a few scenes where the lights gradually dim when I press a button, creating a cozy ambiance in the evenings. It’s these little touches that really make a home feel smart!

I’d love to hear from others who have tackled similar automation challenges. What tricks or tips have you picked up along the way? Whether it’s about optimizing device compatibility, setting up complex automations, or just sharing your favorite smart home hacks, I’m all ears! :headphones:

Let’s keep the conversation going and help each other make the most out of our smart home setups! :star2:
