Exploring Smart Home Automation with Wyze Cameras and Hubitat

I’ve been diving into the world of smart home automation lately, and I must say, it’s been an exciting journey! One of the key components I’ve been focusing on is integrating my Wyze cameras into my Hubitat ecosystem. While both devices are fantastic on their own, combining them has opened up a whole new level of functionality and convenience.

First off, I wanted to share my experience with the Wyze Pan V2 camera. It’s incredibly versatile, and the ability to pan and tilt remotely has been a game-changer for monitoring different areas of my home. However, I ran into a bit of a snag when I tried to connect both my Wyze Cam V2 and the Pan V2 simultaneously. Initially, the Pan V2 would show an error 90, which was frustrating. After some troubleshooting, I realized that the issue was related to network congestion. By adjusting the placement of the cameras and ensuring a stable Wi-Fi connection, I was able to get both devices working seamlessly together.

Now, onto the integration with Hubitat. I’ve been blown away by how customizable and powerful Hubitat is. Setting up routines and automations has never been easier. For instance, I’ve created a routine where my Wyze cameras automatically start recording when motion is detected, and I receive a notification on my phone. This has significantly enhanced my home security without requiring constant monitoring.

One feature I’ve been particularly impressed with is the ability to create custom scenes. I’ve set up a scene where my lights dim and my thermostat adjusts to a comfortable temperature when I press a specific button on my Hubitat smart button. It’s these little touches that really make my home feel smarter and more connected.

I’d love to hear from others who are also integrating Wyze cameras and Hubitat into their smart homes. What challenges have you faced? What tips or tricks have you discovered along the way? Let’s continue to explore and share our experiences to make our smart homes even better!

Happy automating! :rocket:
