I’ve been diving into the world of smart home automation lately, and I must say, it’s been an incredible journey! 
I recently set up a Z-Wave network using Hubitat, and it’s been a game-changer for how I manage my home. Let me share some of my experiences and tips in case anyone is looking to embark on a similar project.
Getting Started with Z-Wave
I started by purchasing a few Z-Wave devices, including smart switches and sensors. The setup process was surprisingly smooth, especially with Hubitat’s user-friendly interface. I was able to integrate my devices in no time and start creating automations. However, I did run into a few hiccups along the way.
One thing I noticed was that some of my devices were sending meter reports too frequently. I had to dig into the settings to adjust the reporting intervals and minimize unnecessary traffic on my network. It’s a small tweak, but it made a big difference in the overall performance!

I initially had some issues with devices not communicating properly, but once I adjusted the account settings, everything fell into place. It’s a small detail that can make a huge impact on the reliability of your system.
