Hello everyone, I’m new to the world of smart home automation and I’ve been diving into setting up my own system. It’s been an exciting journey, but I’ve encountered a few hurdles that I’m hoping the community can help me overcome.
First, I’ve been working with Google Assistant to control my Hue lights. I set up a group to manage multiple lights, but I’m facing an issue where dimming the lights turns them off instead of adjusting the brightness. The logs show a command sending a 0 value when I try to dim, which I believe is causing the lights to turn off. I’ve checked my group definitions and item configurations, but I can’t seem to find where the problem lies. Has anyone else experienced this and found a solution?
Another challenge I’ve come across is pairing IKEA Trådfri plug sockets with my Homey Pro. From what I understand, these plugs should pair with the Homey hub, but I’m struggling to get them into pairing mode. The IKEA website suggests they only pair with the Dirigera hub, which is frustrating since I bought Homey specifically for its hub capabilities. Does anyone have any tips or workarounds for this issue?
Lastly, I’ve noticed that my Philips Hue bridge, after updating to the latest firmware, no longer supports third-party bulbs like my Osram lights. While the bulbs still work if they’re already connected, resetting the bridge or removing them means they can’t be reconnected. This is a bit concerning as I’d like to maintain a mixed setup. I’d appreciate any advice on how to handle this or if there are any updates regarding this limitation.
I’m really enjoying the potential of smart home automation, and I’m hopeful that with the community’s help, I can resolve these issues. Thanks in advance for any guidance or suggestions you can offer!
