Exploring Smart Home Device Associations and Camera Image Issues

Hey everyone, I’ve been diving into my smart home setup lately and came across a couple of interesting challenges that I thought I’d share with you. Hopefully, this can help someone else or spark a discussion!

First off, I noticed some unexpected associations between my Z-Wave devices. I have about 30 of them, and suddenly, things started turning on when a motion sensor in the garage was triggered. It was a bit puzzling because I didn’t set up any of these associations intentionally. After some troubleshooting, I realized that several devices had multiple associations, which I didn’t even know were there. I made some changes recently, but nothing that should have caused this. My main question is, how do I undo these associations? Do I need to exclude and reinclude all the devices, or is there a simpler way?

On another note, I’ve been experimenting with my outdoor security camera. It’s connected to my Wi-Fi and shows up in the app, but it’s not detecting motion or recording anything. This is frustrating because it worked perfectly when we were mounting it. I’m wondering if I need to invest in a hub to make it function properly. Has anyone else had this issue?

Lastly, I wanted to talk about my experience with camera_image in my home automation setup. I have a floorplan map with images from my surveillance cameras, and sometimes when the camera_image refreshes or there’s a connection issue, the image becomes blank and larger than usual. It’s a minor annoyance, but I’m curious if there’s a way to prevent this from happening. Maybe some CSS adjustments or conditional rendering? I’m not entirely sure, but I’m open to suggestions!

Overall, it’s been a mix of challenges and learning experiences. I’m excited to see how others have tackled these issues and to share tips and tricks. Let me know your thoughts or if you’ve encountered similar problems!
