Exploring Smart Home Devices: Frient Meter & Wyze Scale

Hi everyone, I wanted to share my recent experiences with integrating some smart home devices into my setup. First off, I recently installed a Frient Electricity Meter and connected it via Zigbee to my Home Assistant setup. The integration itself was smooth, but I’ve been a bit puzzled by some of the settings. For instance, I’m trying to understand what the value current_summation represents. Is this meant to be the price per kWh? If so, should I input my current rate (like 0.14 for 14p/kWh) there? Also, I’m curious about how to properly add this to the energy section—currently, it only offers ‘energy’, but I’d prefer to track it as ‘power’. Any insights from those who’ve worked with this integration would be greatly appreciated!

On another note, I’ve been a huge fan of Wyze cameras for years, and I was really excited to try out the Wyze Scale. However, after zeroing it out multiple times, it’s consistently showing an error of almost 5 pounds. This has been a bit frustrating, especially since my wife relies on accurate measurements. I’ve tried various troubleshooting steps, including calibration, but the issue persists. I’m now considering reverting to a traditional scale for now, though I’d love to hear if anyone has found a reliable fix for this.

Lastly, I wanted to mention the Wyze Air Purifier Refurbished Option that’s been making waves. It’s great to see Wyze offering refurbished units at more affordable prices, especially with the same high-quality features as the new ones. I’m definitely keeping this in mind for future upgrades!

Overall, these devices have brought a lot of convenience and fun to my smart home setup, even with the occasional hiccup. It’s amazing how technology continues to evolve and make our lives easier. If anyone has tips or experiences to share regarding these devices, I’d love to hear them!
