Exploring Smart Home Gadgets: My Journey with Govee and Homey

I’ve been diving into the world of smart home gadgets lately, and it’s been quite an adventure! :video_game: I recently came across the GoveeLife Smart Thermometer P1 with Smart Gateway 1S, which caught my eye due to its versatility. The specs are impressive, especially the temperature range from -20°C to +70°C, making it perfect for monitoring everything from pools to bird aviaries. :bird: I decided to give it a try for my bird aviary to ensure their water doesn’t freeze during cold snaps. So far, it’s been a game-changer! :shopping_cart:

On another note, I’ve been experimenting with Homey to automate my home setup. After setting it up with a reserved IP address and connecting it to my Google Wifi mesh network, I was excited to start customizing it. However, I ran into an issue where Homey couldn’t find any firmware updates. It reported its firmware version as “1 of May 2012,” which was puzzling. I checked the status page and everything seemed fine, but the update issue persisted. After some research, I realized it might be a temporary glitch, and I’m hoping for a resolution soon.

I’d love to hear from others who’ve successfully integrated Govee devices or have tips for troubleshooting Homey firmware updates. What’s your favorite smart home gadget that you use daily? :hugs:
