Exploring Smart Home Integration: Adaptive Lighting & Beyond

I’ve been diving into the world of smart home integration lately, and it’s been a fascinating journey! One of my recent projects has been setting up adaptive lighting using Home Assistant. I’ve been using the Adaptive Lighting integration from basnijholt, and while it’s been a great experience, I’ve encountered a few hiccups along the way. For instance, after switching scenes or adjusting light settings manually, the adaptive lighting doesn’t always kick back in as smoothly as I’d like. I’ve been working through the documentation and experimenting with service calls like adaptive_lighting.set_manual_control to find a seamless solution. It’s a bit challenging, but it’s also been a great learning experience!

Another area I’ve been exploring is thermostat settings. I’ve noticed some inconsistencies with my Ecobee thermostat, where the temperature setpoints sometimes drift by a degree or two. It’s been a bit puzzling, but I’ve been monitoring the logs and tweaking the routines to get everything back on track. It’s interesting to see how small adjustments can make a big difference in comfort and efficiency.

On a lighter note, I’ve also been having fun integrating some DIY projects into my smart home setup. One of my favorite hacks has been setting up motion sensors to trigger playful lighting effects when guests arrive. It’s a simple touch, but it really adds to the ambiance!

If anyone has tips or tricks for optimizing adaptive lighting or thermostat settings, I’d love to hear them. The more we share, the more we can all enhance our smart home experiences! :rocket:
