Exploring Smart Home Integration and Device Limitations

As I continue to expand my smart home setup, I’ve encountered a few interesting challenges and questions that I’d like to share and discuss with the community. First, I’ve noticed that the new Dashboard feature has a device limit of 100, which is a bit disappointing since I currently have over 100 devices integrated, including some virtual ones. I’ve been able to organize them neatly and scroll through them easily, so it would be great if the limit could be increased significantly. If anyone has insights or suggestions on how to work around this or if there’s a possibility of the limit being raised, I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Another area I’ve been exploring is the customization of lighting scenes. I recently got a Flow Plus, and I’m trying to change the colors of the default Candlelight scene. I’ve attempted some DIY adjustments in the app, but I haven’t had much success. If anyone has tips or step-by-step instructions on how to achieve this, I’d really appreciate it!

On the topic of integrations, I’ve been looking into using Shelly devices to control my electric gate. The idea is to integrate them with Alexa and Apple HomeKit for seamless control. I’ve set up a few Shelly units and configured them as switches, but I’m running into some issues with the wiring and ensuring everything works smoothly without any hiccups. It’s a bit of a puzzle, and I’d love to get some advice or hear about others’ experiences with similar setups.

Energy monitoring is another area I’m delving into. I have a mix of EGX300 and EGX150 devices, and while I’m comfortable with real-time monitoring, I’m struggling a bit with understanding which data points to focus on for accurate energy usage charts. Specifically, I’m trying to compare energy consumption across different parts of my office, like the server room, lighting, and workstations. If anyone has tips on which topics to track or how to best visualize this data, I’d be grateful!

Finally, I’ve been considering some holiday gift ideas and came across Govee’s Christmas light sets. They seem like a great deal, but I’d love to see customizable gift boxes where I could swap out certain items to better suit my needs. It would be fantastic if they offered tiers with different price points and the option to pick specific products. If anyone else has suggestions or has tried similar products, I’d love to hear about your experiences!

Overall, these projects and challenges have been both rewarding and a bit tricky. I’m excited to see how the community can collaborate to find solutions and improve our smart home setups. Let’s keep the discussions going and share our knowledge and experiences!
