Hey everyone! I’m so excited to share some of my recent smart home adventures with you all. First off, I’ve been diving into the world of smart thermostats and it’s been quite the journey. I recently set up a Netatmo Smart Modulating Thermostat, but I’ve been having some trouble connecting it to the Home + Control app. The issue seems to be with the WiFi frequency—it keeps suggesting I use 2.4 GHz, but my smart WiFi system doesn’t allow me to split the network. Does anyone have any tips or workarounds for this? I’d really appreciate it!
On another note, I stumbled upon a fun way to incorporate my Govee Mini Gaming Wall Lights into my holiday decorations. It’s been a blast discovering new ways to use these little gems, and I even earned some Govee points by binding them back into my system. Speaking of points, I’ve been playing around with the crossword puzzles in the Govee app and it’s been a great brain teaser. I managed to solve one without using any hints, though the hint option was a bit buggy. I hope they fix that soon!
I’ve also been experimenting with my Raspberry Pi and openHAB, trying to build a home monitoring system from scratch. It’s been a bit challenging, especially since my programming skills are still developing, but the community support has been amazing. I’ve found some fantastic resources and forums that have really helped me along the way.
Lastly, I wanted to give a shoutout to the Govee Smart Thermometer R1. It’s been a lifesaver for monitoring my ball python’s terrarium. The design is sleek, and the app integration is seamless. If anyone is looking for a reliable smart thermometer, I’d highly recommend giving this one a try!
To all the fellow smart home enthusiasts out there, keep exploring and innovating. The possibilities are truly endless! ![]()
