Exploring Smart Home Integration: Ikea Bulbs, Zigbee, and More

Hi everyone,

I’m diving into the world of smart home automation and wanted to share my experiences and ask for some advice! :rocket:

First off, I’ve successfully integrated my Ikea bulbs via zigbee2mqtt, and it’s been a fantastic experience so far. The only thing I’m struggling with is getting the color settings to match Ikea’s special x,y color space. If anyone has tips or resources on how to convert color values for this, I’d be super grateful! :bulb::sparkles:

Another project I’m working on is setting up a Zigbee network from scratch. I recently purchased the IKEA Gateway Hub and am curious about the best practices for adding devices. Should I add all end devices like bulbs to the Gateway Hub first before integrating them into Homey? Or is it better to connect them directly to Homey? Any insights would be awesome! :hammer_and_wrench::bulb:

On the topic of smart meters, I’ve been using one to track energy consumption, but I’m running into an issue where the values are displayed in kWh instead of Wh. I’ve tried adjusting the settings and even looked into modifying the configuration file, but nothing seems to work. If anyone has successfully configured their smart meter to display values in Wh, I’d love to hear how you did it! :1234::zap:

Lastly, I’ve been exploring the use of Fibaro smart plugs as routing slaves to improve the range of my Z-Wave devices. It’s been a fun experiment, and I’m curious if others have had success with similar setups. :dove::electric_plug:

Overall, it’s been an exciting journey, and I’m eager to learn more and connect with fellow enthusiasts! If you have any tips, tricks, or experiences to share, please drop them here. Looking forward to hearing from you all! :tada:
