As I embark on my journey to integrate smart home technology into my 1968-built house, I’m both excited and a bit overwhelmed. The goal is to modernize my home without invasive renovations, especially in the kitchen where the lighting system is quite quirky. My challenge: Three light switches controlling three separate lamps, which I want to simplify into a single control point.
My idea: Install a single switch at the kitchen entrance that can control all three lamps simultaneously or individually. I’m considering using wireless actors for each lamp and a switch that can send signals via radio. But I’m unsure if the HM-LC-Sw1-FM switch is sufficient or if I need a more advanced model like the HM-PBI-4-FM.
Another area I’m exploring is the integration of smart blinds. Currently, each blind has its own switch, but I’d like to control them room-wise with a single switch or via predefined scenarios like ‘Home Cinema.’ I’m looking into using the HM-LC-Bl1PBU-FM actors for this.
The heating system is another focus. With gas central heating and thermostats in each room, I want to add smart control to selected areas without conflicting with the existing thermostat in the hallway. I’m curious about how to ensure these systems work harmoniously.
Lastly, I’m concerned about the radio range, especially with the house’s concrete ceilings. I’m wondering if the LAN adapter can help extend the range or if I need additional measures.
If anyone has experience with similar setups or tips, I’d love to hear your insights! Let’s make this home smarter together. ![]()
