I’ve been diving into the world of smart home integration, and I must say, it’s been an exciting journey! Recently, I upgraded from an Echo Dot to an Echo Show in my bedroom. The transition was motivated by the convenience of having a built-in clock and weather display, which has been a delightful addition to my mornings. Plus, the Echo Show was on sale, making it a great deal. However, I’ve encountered a small hiccup that I’m hoping the community can help me resolve.
Previously, with the Echo Dot, I could simply say, “Alexa, start Paramount Plus on Roku TV,” and it would seamlessly turn on the TV and launch the app. Now, with the Echo Show, while I can still turn on the Roku TV, asking it to start a specific app like Paramount Plus results in a notification that it can’t perform that action. Instead, it suggests doing it directly on the Echo Show’s screen, which isn’t ideal since I prefer watching content on my 50-inch TV rather than the 5-inch Echo Show screen.
I’ve tried troubleshooting this by checking the Alexa app settings, ensuring the Roku TV is correctly paired, and even resetting the Echo Show to factory settings. Despite these efforts, the issue persists. I’m curious if others have encountered similar problems and if there’s a workaround or a specific setting I might have missed. It would be fantastic to leverage the Echo Show’s features while still maintaining the seamless integration I had with the Echo Dot.
On a lighter note, I’ve been inspired by some of the creative solutions shared in this community, such as using multiple smart devices in harmony. It’s amazing how a little troubleshooting and the right configuration can lead to such satisfying results. I’m hopeful that with some guidance, I can get my setup working smoothly again. Thanks in advance for any tips or insights you might have!
