Hello fellow smart home enthusiasts! I’ve been diving into the world of ESPHome and Mikrotik CAPSMAN lately, and I wanted to share my experiences and ask for some guidance.
I’ve successfully integrated several ESP32 and ESP8266 devices into my network using Mikrotik access points. When using individual SSIDs per AP, everything works flawlessly. However, when I enable CAPSMAN for optimized coverage and a unified SSID, my ESPHome devices lose connection. Other devices like smartphones connect without issues, so it seems to be an ESP-specific problem.
I’ve tried troubleshooting by checking DHCP requests and ARP tables, but nothing shows up for the ESP devices when CAPSMAN is enabled. Disabling CAPSMAN restores connectivity, but I’d love to leverage its benefits for better coverage.
