Hey everyone, I’m diving into the world of smart-home automation and thought I’d share my journey with you. I recently came across the Ezlo Plugins documentation and found it incredibly helpful for customizing my setup. If you’re looking to create your own plugins, the Sample Plugin is a great starting point. It breaks down the structure and functionality, making it easier to understand how to build and deploy your own solutions. One thing I’m particularly excited about is the ability to integrate multiple devices across different brands. For instance, I’ve been experimenting with combining my Fibaro Door Sensor 2 with a MCOHome MH-411 Touch Panel Switch. The goal is to create a seamless system where the door sensor triggers specific actions, like adjusting lighting or notifying my phone. However, I’ve encountered some quirks, especially with Z-Wave timeouts after updating to HA 0.68.1. The logs show errors like ‘Dropping Command’ and ‘Cannot find endpoint map’, which have been a bit of a puzzle to solve. Speaking of puzzles, I stumbled upon a user who was struggling with Zone names not syncing between their keypad and Vera system. It turns out enabling Zone name request was the key, but there are still some gotchas to watch out for. I’m curious if others have faced similar issues and how they resolved them. On a lighter note, I’ve also been exploring the Hyperion lighting system. The new color wheel is a neat addition, but I’m missing the dimmer functionality I had with the old Square color select. If anyone knows of a workaround or a planned update, I’d love to hear about it! Lastly, I wanted to touch on the Matter Integration in Home Assistant. With so many Eve devices in my setup, it’s exciting to see how they can work alongside HomeKit. However, I’m still on the fence about diving fully into Matter due to its beta status. Have others had success with Matter on a larger scale? Automation is all about experimentation, and I’m loving every challenge it throws my way.
