Exploring Smart Home Integration with Govee and Hikvision

As someone deeply interested in smart home technology, I’ve been on a journey to integrate various devices into my ecosystem. One of my recent discoveries has been the Govee GU10 Bulbs, which I’ve installed in my kitchen. The quality and packaging are truly impressive, and they’ve added a wonderful touch to my daily routine. If you’re curious, I’ve shared a quick review on my YouTube channel—though I’m not sure if Govee approves of such shoutouts!

On the other hand, I’ve been facing some challenges with my Hikvision cameras. I’ve been trying to set them up as Virtual IP Cameras in the latest experimental release, but I keep encountering an error related to the Content-Type. Specifically, I’ve been using the URL http://user:pass@192.168.1.x:80/Streaming/channels/1/picture for both stream 1 and 2, but it just doesn’t seem to work. I’ve tried multiple models, including the DS-2CD2542FWD-IS and DS-2CD2032F-I, but the issue persists. Has anyone successfully integrated Hikvision cameras in this way? I’d love to hear your experiences!

Another area I’ve been exploring is combining different smart devices. For instance, I’m curious about integrating a Schalt-Mess-Aktor with a wall switch to control a lamp from two different locations. I’ve considered using a switch group, but I’m not entirely sure if this approach will work seamlessly. I’d appreciate any insights or alternative solutions you might have!

Overall, while there are certainly hurdles to overcome, the journey of experimenting with these devices has been incredibly rewarding. It’s amazing to see how technology can enhance our daily lives, even in small ways. I’m excited to continue exploring and learning from the community. If you’ve got any tips or success stories, please share them—I’m all ears! :headphones:
