As I continue my journey into the world of smart home technology, I’ve been experimenting with integrating various devices to create a seamless and automated living space. One of the most exciting aspects of this journey has been working with Govee and Shelly products, which have proven to be both versatile and reliable.
I recently upgraded my Govee Immersion lights, and while I love the vibrant colors, I noticed that the warm light setting had changed after a software update. It now has a slightly greenish tint instead of the classic orange-yellow I was used to. I reached out to the community to see if there’s a way to revert the software or adjust the settings to match my older Govee bars. It’s a minor issue, but consistency is key for me!
On the Shelly front, I’ve been trying to set up my Shelly Plus devices for presence detection using Bluetooth beacons. The idea is to have my lights turn on automatically when I enter a room with my smartphone acting as a beacon. While I haven’t fully cracked this yet, it’s been a fascinating experiment. I’m using HomeAssistant with MQTT for integration, so any tips from the community would be greatly appreciated!
Another topic I’ve been exploring is the integration of Alexa with my vehicle. While it’s fantastic to have Alexa built-in, I’m still struggling with setting reminders when using her as a car assistant. It’s a small inconvenience, but I’m hopeful that a solution will emerge soon.
I’d love to hear from others who are also integrating multiple brands into their smart home setups. What challenges have you faced? What tips can you share for a smoother integration experience? Let’s continue to learn and grow together in this exciting space!
Cheers to all the innovators and early adopters out there—your creativity and persistence keep pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in smart home technology!
