Exploring Smart Home Integration with Merten and deCONZ

I’ve been diving into the world of smart home automation, and it’s been quite an adventure! I recently set up my Conbee II gateway using a Raspberry Pi 4, and it’s been working like a charm with my Zigbee lights. But when I tried integrating my Merten MEG5116-0300 Zigbee Module with the MEG5165-0000 shutter controller, things got a bit tricky. While deCONZ recognized the device as a Window Covering and even allowed me to control it via the GUI, it didn’t show up in the Phoscon app or Homebridge. I’m wondering if there’s something I’m missing in the setup or if there’s a manual configuration step I need to take. Any insights from the community would be greatly appreciated!

On a lighter note, I’ve been absolutely thrilled with how my Wyze outdoor camera handled the recent tree removal after the Iowa Derecho. It captured some incredible time-lapse footage, and it’s been a reliable addition to my security setup. I’m curious to hear how others have integrated Wyze devices into their systems, especially in challenging environments.

As I continue to explore and troubleshoot, I’m reminded of how fortunate I am to be part of such a supportive and knowledgeable community. Whether it’s sharing tips, troubleshooting issues, or just celebrating small victories, this forum is a goldmine of information and inspiration. Here’s to many more projects and discoveries ahead!
