I’ve been diving into the world of smart home automation lately, and I must say, it’s been an incredible journey! 
I started with OpenHAB, which has been a fantastic platform to learn and grow with. The ability to customize everything from lighting to security has been truly empowering. However, I did run into a few bumps along the way, especially when trying to integrate some of my Wyze cameras into my setup. 
One of the challenges I faced was getting my Wyze doorbell to consistently show up in the IFTTT device list. It worked flawlessly for a year, but recently, it started disappearing after a day. I tried everything—reinstalling the app, updating firmware, even resetting the device. Nothing seemed to stick until I stumbled upon a helpful tip in this community about checking the device’s network settings. Turns out, ensuring the camera was on the right network made all the difference! 
Another area I’ve been exploring is energy consumption tracking. I’ve got a device that changes its power usage frequently, and I wanted a way to monitor and calculate the costs in real-time. After some research, I found that using rules in OpenHAB was the perfect solution. It’s been a great way to stay on top of my energy usage and budget accordingly. 
I also wanted to share a fun project I’ve been working on—using Wyze cams with WMM QoS settings. This has significantly improved the video quality and reduced buffering, making my home monitoring setup much smoother. If anyone has tips or experiences with optimizing video streams, I’d love to hear them!
