Exploring Smart Home Integration with Shelly and Sonoff Devices

Hi everyone, I’m thrilled to share my recent experiences with integrating Shelly and Sonoff devices into my smart home setup. :tada:

I recently purchased a Shelly 1PM to manage my PV system, and it’s been a game-changer! However, I encountered an issue where the device occasionally shuts off due to over-consumption. After some research, I discovered that the Shelly 1PM has a limit of 3500W. To resolve this, I’m considering upgrading to a Shelly device with a higher capacity. If anyone has tips or recommendations, I’d love to hear them! :bulb:

On the Sonoff front, I’ve been experimenting with the ZBDongle-E (EZSP) for Zigbee2MQTT integration. Unfortunately, I’ve faced a recurring error: HOST_FATAL_ERROR. Despite checking my setup multiple times, the issue persists. I’m curious if others have encountered similar problems and how they resolved them.

One of the highlights of my journey has been seamlessly integrating these devices with Alexa. It’s incredible how Alexa can now control lights, thermostats, and even my PV system with just a voice command. The convenience is unmatched, and it’s made my home truly smarter. :studio_microphone:

I’m also exploring the possibility of using Google Home’s presence detection for routines. Imagine turning on lights or adjusting the thermostat as I walk in the door—all without lifting a finger! It’s features like these that make smart home technology so exciting. :star2:

If anyone has tips on optimizing device performance or has stories about their own smart home setups, I’d love to hear them. Let’s continue to grow and learn together! :seedling:

Cheers,
