I’ve been diving into the world of smart home automation lately, and I must say, it’s been an exciting journey! I started with the Shelly 1PM Mini Gen 3, hoping to create some scenes to automate my lighting. However, I ran into some issues getting it to work seamlessly. After a bit of research and trial and error, I realized it might not be the best fit for my specific use case, but it was a great learning experience nonetheless. One of the most fascinating aspects of this adventure has been integrating my Zigbee devices with SkyConnect. I’ve been using a Bluetooth dongle for my Switchbot devices, and I was curious if I could place both dongles with their extension cables next to each other without causing interference. It turns out, they work beautifully together! I even managed to create a cute “butterfly” setup with them, which adds a bit of personality to my setup. Another highlight has been experimenting with the Shelly Wall Switch and Dimmer2. The wiring was a bit confusing at first, especially with the voltage differences, but after consulting the community and some online resources, I got it sorted out. It’s amazing how these devices can transform the way I interact with my home. I’ve also been keeping an eye on the continuous recording feature for my doorbell camera. It’s crucial for security, and I’m hopeful that future updates will make this more accessible. In the meantime, I’ve been exploring alternative solutions and sharing tips with the community. Overall, this journey has been a mix of challenges and triumphs, but it’s all been worth it to create a more connected and efficient home. I’m excited to see what the future holds and can’t wait to tackle the next project! If anyone has tips or experiences to share, I’d love to hear them. ![]()
