I recently purchased a SkyBell doorbell and integrated it with SmartThings, which has been a fantastic experience so far. The ability to automate the inside doorbell has been incredibly useful, but I’m curious if there’s a way to temporarily disable motion recording based on other events in the SmartThings ecosystem. For example, when I leave the house, I end up with a lot of unnecessary recordings. I thought about using a contact sensor or smart lock to disable motion recording when the door is opened, but I haven’t found a way to implement this yet. I’m wondering if this is even possible through their API or if someone else has figured out a workaround. It would be great to streamline this feature to avoid clutter in my recordings.
