Exploring Smart Home Solutions with Govee and Shelly Devices

Hi everyone, I’ve been diving into the world of smart home devices lately, and I wanted to share some of my experiences and questions with the community. I’ve recently purchased a few Govee and Shelly devices, and they’ve been a great addition to my setup, but I’ve also encountered a few challenges that I’d love to get some advice on.

First off, I’m really impressed with the Govee electric space heaters. They’re not only stylish but also incredibly efficient. However, I’ve heard about some recalls and safety concerns, so I’m curious if anyone else has had issues with their Govee heaters and how they’ve addressed them. Safety is a top priority for me, so I want to make sure I’m using these devices responsibly.

On the Shelly front, I’ve been experimenting with their 1PM and RGBW2 devices. They’ve integrated seamlessly into my system, and I love how versatile they are. However, I’ve encountered a peculiar issue with the Shelly 1PM where it sometimes doesn’t retain its Wi-Fi settings after a reset. I’ve tried multiple resets and reconfigurations, but it keeps reverting to my home network instead of the office one. Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, how did you resolve it?

Another topic I’d love to discuss is the integration of different smart home devices. I’m currently using a mix of Zigbee and Z-Wave devices, and while they work well together, I’m always on the lookout for ways to optimize my setup. For example, I’d love to create a more seamless experience between my Govee devices and my existing Zigbee network. Any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated!

Lastly, I’m really interested in hearing about others’ experiences with smart home automation, especially when it comes to energy efficiency and cost savings. I’ve started tracking my energy usage with the Shelly 1PM, and it’s been eye-opening. I’d love to hear how others have optimized their setups to reduce energy consumption without sacrificing comfort.

To wrap things up, I’m really enjoying the journey of building out my smart home, but there’s always more to learn and explore. I’m looking forward to hearing from the community and picking up some new tips and tricks along the way. Thanks for reading, and I hope to hear from you all soon!
