As I dive deeper into the world of smart home technology, I wanted to share some of my experiences and insights with the community. From setting up a Roomba plugin to dealing with Schlage lock events, it’s been quite the adventure!
Starting with the Roomba plugin, I must say, it’s been a fascinating journey. I came across this plugin that allows integration with the Roowifi module, enabling control and monitoring of my Roomba. While it was a bit of a learning curve to get everything set up—especially with the Lua coding involved—the end result has been worth it. The ability to monitor battery status and control cleaning schedules remotely has been a game-changer for me. It’s amazing how a bit of coding can bring so much convenience into daily life!
Moving on to Schlage locks, I’ve been experimenting with their lock events feature. It’s incredible how detailed these events can be, providing insights into how my locks are being used—whether it’s through a keypad, thumb turn, or digital command. However, I’ve noticed that some events, like the ‘alarmv2.AlarmReport’, aren’t being captured by the app, which is a bit puzzling. I’m curious if others have encountered similar issues or have tips on how to ensure all events are logged properly.
One thing I’ve learned is that smart home tech is all about continuous learning and adaptation. Whether it’s troubleshooting plugin setups or figuring out how to capture all lock events, each challenge brings new knowledge and satisfaction when overcome.
I’d love to hear from others about their experiences with integrating different devices or solving tricky tech issues. Let’s keep the conversation going and help each other navigate the exciting world of smart home automation!
Cheers to all the tinkerers and tech enthusiasts out there! ![]()
