Exploring Smart Home Upgrades and Camera Lifespan

I’ve been using my V3 camera for exactly 2 years now, and it’s been a reliable companion in my smart home setup. It sits in my front window, capturing motion and providing a live feed, which has been incredibly useful. However, over the past couple of months, I’ve noticed some inconsistencies—specifically, occasions where it stopped recording clips of motion, cars, etc. The live feed was still working, but the recording feature seemed to freeze. Unplugging it usually fixed the issue, but it was a bit of a hassle. Thankfully, for the past 3 weeks, it’s been working perfectly again. I’m curious if this is a common issue or if there’s a lifespan for these cameras before they need replacing.

I’ve also been thinking about upgrading to a telephoto camera to see if it offers a significant improvement over my current setup. From what I’ve read online, the main advantage seems to be the ability to zoom in, which could be useful for clearer footage. However, I’m not sure if it’s worth the investment or if sticking with my V3 and possibly getting a spare would be a better option. I’d love to hear others’ experiences with telephoto cameras and whether they’ve noticed a noticeable difference in image quality or functionality.

On another note, I’ve been experimenting with Govee lights in my home, and they’ve been a game-changer for creating cozy and vibrant spaces. I’m especially impressed with how they adapt to different lighting needs throughout the day and night. It’s amazing how a simple upgrade in lighting can transform a room’s ambiance. I’d love to hear if anyone else has tips or favorite setups with Govee products! :star2:
