I’ve been diving into the world of smart irrigation and multi-brand speaker integration, and it’s been quite an adventure! 
I currently use a Rainbird STP-6 irrigation controller with 4 valves to manage my garden, and I’m really curious about integrating the EtherRain system to control everything via Vera Lite. The idea of manually starting irrigation from the shed while also having Vera Lite control it remotely sounds perfect, but I’m not entirely sure how to connect both systems seamlessly. Have any of you successfully combined EtherRain and Rainbird controllers? I’d love to hear about your setups and any tips you might have!
On another note, I’ve been exploring the possibility of grouping speakers from different brands—specifically, my HomeKit speakers, Philips MCI, and Audio Pro units. While I can play local sounds from my phone to the Philips MCI, I’m puzzled why Spotify through SmartThings doesn’t work the same way. It’s frustrating when the music doesn’t flow as smoothly as I’d like, especially when entertaining guests. Has anyone found a workaround or a clever solution for this? I’m really hoping the community can shed some light on this!
I’m also curious about others’ experiences with outdoor temperature monitoring. I’ve tried several devices, but none seem to handle the harsh Canadian winters, especially temperatures below -35°C. If anyone knows of a reliable Z-Wave or ZigBee device that can withstand such conditions, I’d be grateful for the recommendation!
