Hey everyone, I’m diving into the world of smart irrigation and thought I’d share my journey with you. I recently set up an automation using the HMIP-MOD-OC8 valve controller, aiming to water my garden systematically. The plan was simple: press a button, and valves 1 to 4 open sequentially for 30 minutes each. However, reality had other plans!
At first, everything seemed to work smoothly. Valve 1 opened as expected, followed by Valve 2. But when Valve 3 came into play, it started acting up. It would briefly close and then reopen, staying open indefinitely. Meanwhile, Valve 4 stubbornly stayed closed, leaving my garden’s far corner parched. I scratched my head, wondering if I missed something in the programming.
After some research and trial and error, I realized the issue might lie in the automation logic. I considered adding a ‘default’ condition, as suggested by some community members, to ensure all valves behave as intended. It’s a bit puzzling why Valve 4 isn’t cooperating, especially since it’s the last in the sequence.
This experience has been both frustrating and enlightening. It’s reminded me of the importance of thorough testing and the value of community support. If anyone has tackled a similar issue or has insights into optimizing this setup, I’d love to hear your thoughts!
