Exploring Smart Irrigation with Spruce: Challenges and Solutions

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience with the Spruce Irrigation system. Honestly, it’s been a bit of a rollercoaster, but I’m hopeful we can turn things around!

After setting up the system, I faced some initial hurdles with sensor communication. Moving the sensors multiple times didn’t solve the issue, and the ‘learn’ mode didn’t quite live up to its name. The system just wasn’t watering when it should, leaving my lawn parched. Frustrated, I had to manually trigger the watering, which defeated the purpose of having a smart system.

The real kicker came when the system got stuck in ‘Pause Mode’ for hours on end. I reached out to Spruce support, and while they were helpful, the issue persisted. However, turning off the ‘learn’ mode did provide some relief, allowing the system to water manually at least.

Despite these challenges, I’m still optimistic. The soil moisture readings are accurate, and with some tweaking, I believe the system can work. I’m planning to adjust the settings further and keep a closer eye on the sensors. If anyone has successfully implemented Spruce Irrigation, I’d love to hear your tips!

Let’s keep the conversation going—I’m sure there are solutions out there, and I’m determined to make this system work for my yard. Thanks for listening, and happy automating!
