Hey everyone! I wanted to share a fun project I’ve been working on with my smart lights. I’ve always loved how customizable these systems are, but I wanted to push it a bit further. I decided to create a dynamic light scene that changes based on the time of day and my activities. It’s been a great learning experience!
So, my setup includes a mix ofPhilips Hue andWyze lights, all integrated intoHome Assistant. I started by mapping out different scenarios: morning wake-up, evening relaxation, movie nights, and even a special‘party mode’. The goal was to automate these scenes so they kick in without me having to do anything.
One challenge I faced was getting the lights to transition smoothly between scenes. I discovered that using scenes with predefined brightness and color temperatures made a big difference. For example, in the morning, I set the lights to a warm, gradual increase to simulate sunrise. In the evening, they dim and shift to cooler tones to help wind down.
I also added motion sensors to the mix. Now, if I’m in the kitchen late at night, the lights automatically dim to a soft glow, but brighten up if I start moving around. It’s these little touches that make the home feel more alive and personalized.
I’d love to hear how others have set up their lighting automations. Do you have any favorite scenes or tips for smooth transitions? Let’s share and inspire each other!
Cheers,
