I’ve been diving into the world of smart lighting lately, and I must say, it’s been an incredible journey! 
I recently installed Govee mini lamps and strip lights under my kitchen cabinets, and the transformation is nothing short of magical. Not only do they add a warm and inviting ambiance, but they also make cleaning and cooking so much more enjoyable. The vibrant colors and smooth transitions are a joy to work with, and I love how they can be controlled through my smartphone. 
However, my adventure didn’t come without its challenges. I’ve been experimenting with integrating multiple smart devices from different brands, and it’s been a bit of a puzzle to get everything working seamlessly together. For instance, I’ve been trying to set up a Wemo Mini Smart Plug to control an old ceiling light, but getting it to work with my existing Zigbee setup has been a bit tricky. I’ve spent hours researching forums and tweaking my configuration.yaml file, but I’m still not quite there. 
One thing I’ve learned is the importance of proper secrets management. I tried moving my auth tokens from configuration.yaml to secrets.yaml to keep my setup more secure, but it didn’t work as expected. The service calls stopped functioning, and I had to revert to using the actual tokens. If anyone has tips on how to securely manage credentials for service calls, I’d be more than grateful! 
On a lighter note, I’ve also been exploring some fun automation ideas. For example, I’d love to create a system where pressing a single button toggles between two different lighting scenes—one for casual dinners and another for movie nights. It’s a simple idea, but I’m not quite sure how to implement it. Any suggestions would be wonderful! 
Overall, this journey has been both frustrating and incredibly rewarding. It’s amazing how technology can transform our homes into smarter, more connected spaces. I can’t wait to see what other innovations I can incorporate into my smart home setup!
