First off, I recently purchased some IKEA floor lamps and I’m looking to upgrade them with smart lighting. I’ve heard great things about Philips Hue, but the cost of their E12 candelabra bulbs is a bit steep for my budget. I’m wondering if anyone has found a more affordable alternative that still works seamlessly with Google Home or Hue. I’ve considered the IKEA TRÅDFRI line, but I’m a bit fuzzy on how it integrates with other systems. Any insights or recommendations would be fantastic!
On another note, I’ve been exploring Home Assistant and Node-Red to create some custom automations. I’m really excited about the possibilities, but debugging my own Node-Red functions has been a bit of a hurdle. I stumbled upon some guides suggesting the use of Chrome for debugging, but I’d prefer to stick with Visual Studio Code if possible. If anyone has a step-by-step guide or tips on how to set this up, I’d be super grateful!
Lastly, I’ve been experimenting with voice automation and integrating different devices. It’s been a learning curve, but seeing everything come together is incredibly rewarding. I’d love to hear how others are leveraging voice commands for their smart homes and any tips they might have for avoiding common pitfalls.
