Exploring Smart Lighting and Motion Automation

Hey everyone, I’m diving into the world of smart lighting and motion automation, and I wanted to share my experiences and some questions I have along the way. :rocket:

First off, I recently set up an automation in Smart Lighting that turns on my strip lights when motion is detected. It’s been working like a charm, but I’m hitting a snag when it comes to turning them off after a set period. The automation works perfectly for turning the lights on, but I’m struggling to find the right delay setting. Is one minute the smallest time allowed for the shutoff delay? I really want to set it to 30 seconds, but I’m not sure if that’s possible. Any tips or workarounds would be amazing! :bulb:

On another note, I’ve been experimenting with some DIY projects using Govee LED strips. The RGBIC features are incredible, and I’ve managed to create some really neat effects. However, I’m curious if anyone has experience with using these strips in a more complex setup, like bending them around corners. I noticed that when I bend them too sharply, they sometimes project an orange color instead of the intended hue. Is there a fix for this, or is it just a matter of how tightly they’re bent? I’d love to hear from anyone who’s tackled this issue. :rainbow:

Lastly, I want to give a shoutout to Govee for their fantastic customer support. They recently released a firmware update for their DreamView devices, and the instructions for updating multiple sets were incredibly clear. It’s rare to find a company that puts so much thought into the user experience. Kudos to Govee! :raised_hands:

If anyone has advice on my automation delay issue or the LED strip bending problem, I’d be thrilled to hear from you. Let’s keep the smart home innovations flowing! :bulb::sparkles:
