Hi everyone! I’ve been diving into the world of smart lighting and motion detection, and I wanted to share some of my experiences and questions with you all.
First, I’ve been working on setting up a YAML configuration for my interactive floor plan. I’ve managed to get the state icons working, but I’m struggling with visibility based on the entity state. For example, I have a motion sensor in my living room, and I want the icon to only show up when motion is detected. I’ve tried tweaking the code, but it’s still visible even when the sensor is clear. Any tips or tricks would be amazing!
Also, I’m curious about customizing the state colors. Right now, it’s blue when the sensor is clear and yellow when motion is detected, but I’d love to change these to something more vibrant. I’ve looked through the documentation, but I haven’t found a clear way to do this yet.
On a lighter note, I’ve been experimenting with using motion sensors to control my lights. It’s been a fun project, but I’ve run into a few hiccups. For instance, I set up a scene where the hallway lights turn on when motion is detected, but they sometimes stay on even when there’s no movement. I’m wondering if there’s a way to add a timer or some conditional logic to turn them off after a certain period.
I’d also love to hear about everyone’s favorite smart lighting setups. Do you have any tips for creating the perfect ambiance or integrating different lighting zones? I’m always looking for inspiration!
Lastly, I wanted to share a quick tip I came across. If you’re having trouble with MQTT settings, make sure to check your broker configuration and ensure all your devices are properly authenticated. It saved me a lot of frustration once I figured it out!
Looking forward to hearing from all of you and learning more about your projects and experiences! ![]()
