Hello everyone, I wanted to share my recent experiences with integrating smart lighting and security systems into my home. It’s been an exciting journey filled with both triumphs and learning moments!
Starting with smart lighting, I’ve been experimenting with creating calming ambiance using purple fade lighting effects. It’s amazing how such subtle changes can enhance the mood of a room. I’ve also encountered some quirks, like my bedroom lights turning on unexpectedly, which I suspect might be related to Google Home integration. Has anyone else experienced similar issues?
On the security front, I recently set up a Reolink Duo Floodlight camera. It’s been fantastic for deterring potential intruders with its bright lights and loud siren. However, I’m curious if others have managed to trigger the floodlight and siren from other cameras or sensors around their property. The ability to create a unified security response system would be invaluable!
I’ve also been diving into Node-RED to automate more complex tasks. One of my latest projects involves controlling my Xiaomi Roborock vacuum. I managed to resume paused cleaning using a custom script, which was a bit of a challenge but ultimately rewarding.
