Exploring Smart Lighting and Zigbee Integration

Hi everyone! I’ve been diving into the world of smart lighting and Zigbee integration, and I wanted to share my experiences and some questions I’ve come across.

First, I’ve been experimenting with mounting wall lights. Does anyone have tips on the best methods or tools for a clean installation? I’m looking for something that’s both secure and aesthetically pleasing.

Moving on to Zigbee, I’ve got a setup with multiple devices, and I’m curious about best practices for managing them. I currently have 31 Zigbee devices, and I’m wondering if there’s a smarter way to organize them or if there are any potential issues with scaling up to around 60-70 devices. I’ve also noticed some devices showing up in my system that I’m not sure about—any advice on identifying or managing these?

Another area I’m exploring is integrating door and window contacts via Zigbee. I’ve had some reliability issues with my current DECT-based system, and I’m considering switching to Zigbee for better performance. Are there any budget-friendly Zigbee options that you’d recommend?

I’m also looking into using Shelly devices for my remaining outlets. Should I stick with Zigbee for these, or would Wi-Fi be a better choice considering my current network setup? And for those of you familiar with Z-Wave, how does it compare to Zigbee in terms of reliability and integration with Home Assistant?

Lastly, I’d love to hear about anyone’s experiences with smart lighting configurations and how they’ve optimized their setups for both functionality and aesthetics. Have you encountered any unexpected challenges or discovered any hidden gems in your smart lighting journey?

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and tips! Thanks for being such a helpful community.
