Hey everyone, I’m really excited to share my recent journey into smart lighting automation, specifically for outdoor security. I’ve been experimenting with my Arlo Q camera and Z-Wave controlled lights in the loft, and it’s been a fascinating process!
Initially, I set up the lights to turn on automatically when the camera detects motion. It worked perfectly, but I ran into an interesting issue. After setting the lights to turn off after a certain period, the camera kept detecting the light change as motion, causing the lights to flicker back on. It was a bit frustrating, but also a great learning opportunity!
I decided to dig deeper and explore if there’s a way to prevent this loop. I’ve heard about using delay timers or adjusting the sensitivity settings on the camera. I’m also curious if others have encountered similar issues and how they resolved them. Maybe there’s a smarter way to integrate the camera and lights without causing false triggers.
On a different note, I’ve been really impressed with how consistent my Govee lights have been. They add such a nice touch to my outdoor setup, and the RGBIC features are a great bonus. I’d love to hear if anyone else has tips or tricks for optimizing their outdoor lighting systems.
If anyone has advice on how to refine my automation setup or recommendations for more reliable outdoor lights, I’d be thrilled to hear them. Let’s keep the conversation going and help each other create smarter, more efficient home systems!
