I’ve been diving into the world of smart lighting automation with Hubitat, and it’s been a fascinating journey! After setting up my initial system with Fibaro dimmers and motion sensors, I wanted to create a seamless experience that adapts to my daily routines. Here’s what I’ve discovered and achieved so far:
1. Evening Automation Success I managed to automate my kitchen lights to turn on when motion is detected or the wall switch is pressed. They automatically turn off after one minute of no motion or when the wall switch is pressed again. This has been a game-changer for my evening routine!
2. Daytime Automation Challenge While the night automation works perfectly, I’m still tweaking the daytime settings. My goal is for the lights to respond only to the wall switch during the day, but I’m encountering some inconsistencies. I’m curious if others have faced similar issues and how they resolved them.
3. Motion Sensor Placement Tips Proper placement of motion sensors has been crucial. I’ve found that positioning them slightly higher than eye level and away from direct sunlight has improved their reliability. I’d love to hear other users’ strategies for optimal sensor placement!
