Exploring Smart Lighting Automation with GOOSUND and Hue

I’ve been diving into the world of smart lighting automation lately, and I must say, it’s been an incredible journey! :rocket: I recently picked up a GOOSUND Mini Smart WiFi Plug to control a few appliances around my home, and I’m absolutely thrilled with how seamless it is to integrate with my existing smart home setup. The plug works perfectly with my 2.4G Wi-Fi network, and the app interface is user-friendly, making it a breeze to set up and control everything from my smartphone. The price point at USD 8.99 is also a huge plus, especially for someone like me who’s just starting out with smart home devices. :money_mouth_face:

One of my favorite projects has been creating a nighttime routine using my Hue Motion Sensors and Wemo Switches. The idea is to have the lights automatically turn on if my mom gets up during the night, ensuring she has enough light without having to fumble for switches. The setup involves the Hue Motion Sensors detecting movement under her bed, which then triggers the Wemo Switches to power on the lights plugged into them. It’s such a simple yet effective way to provide her with comfort and safety. :bulb:

However, I’ve noticed that the Wemo Switches don’t consistently trigger every time the motion sensor detects movement. Sometimes they work flawlessly, and other times, they seem to miss the signal entirely. I’m curious if anyone else has experienced this and if there are any tips or tricks to ensure more reliable performance. I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences with similar setups!

Another thing I’ve been experimenting with is creating custom scenes using my smart lighting system. I’ve found that combining different color temperatures and brightness levels can really transform the ambiance of a room. For instance, during movie nights, I set the lights to a warm, dim glow to create a cozy theater-like atmosphere. It’s amazing how a little tweak in lighting can enhance the overall experience. :clapper:

I’d also love to hear about your favorite smart lighting hacks or automation routines. Do you have any clever ways to integrate motion sensors or smart plugs into your daily life? Let’s share and inspire each other! :speech_balloon:

In the meantime, I’ll keep tweaking my setup and learning from the amazing community here. Thanks for being such a supportive and knowledgeable group!
