I’ve recently been diving into the world of smart lighting automation, and I must say, it’s been an absolutely delightful journey! 
I’ve been using Govee lights for a while now, and their integration with Google Assistant has truly taken my home setup to the next level. Let me share some of my experiences and tips with you all!
First off, I wanted to create a seamless way to control my garage door using voice commands. Initially, I set it up so that saying “Turn on garage door 1” would trigger the door to open or close, depending on its current state. However, I found myself wanting more intuitive commands like “Open garage door 1” or “Close garage door 1.” After some research and tinkering, I managed to implement this by adjusting my ESP32 setup and integrating it with Google Assistant. Now, it’s so much more user-friendly! Plus, I added a reed switch to provide feedback on the door’s status. It’s amazing how a little bit of customization can make such a big difference. 
Another area I’ve been exploring is smart lighting scenes. I’ve set up my Govee lights to automatically adjust based on the time of day and my activities. For example, in the mornings, my bedroom lights gradually brighten to mimic sunrise, helping me wake up feeling more refreshed. In the evenings, the lights dim and shift to warmer tones, creating a cozy ambiance for relaxation. It’s these small touches that really make a home feel smart and personalized.
